# MacrAU: Open Food Facts derived data

This dataset is derived from Open Food Facts (https://openfoodfacts.org), made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0 (https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/). Individual contents are under the Database Contents License (DbCL) v1.0.

MacrAU's bundled food database includes rows imported from Open Food Facts.
Our build modifies those rows (cleaned names, re-filed units, quality gates,
search metadata), which makes this slice a Derivative Database under the
ODbL. It is therefore offered here under the same licence, as the ODbL
requires (sections 4.4 and 4.6), and it remains available whether or not the
copy shipped inside the app is protected (section 4.7 b). Our modifications
to these rows are licensed under the ODbL too.

Only rows that originate from Open Food Facts are in this file. The rest of
the MacrAU database (Australian Food Composition Database rows under CC BY
4.0, and our own compilation of retailer and restaurant data) is not part of
this dataset and is not under the ODbL.

## Layout

One CSV row per food, gzipped. The header row names every column of the
MacrAU `foods` table (51 columns), in the table's own order. Nutrition
columns ending in `_100g` are per 100 g or per 100 mL as `nutrition_basis`
states; columns ending in `_serve` are per the serving in `serving_size_g`.
`source_id` is the Open Food Facts product code.
